Displays network bandwidth utilization and total number of packets over time.
Click this button to clear all trending information displayed in the Trend Analysis Window
Click this button to specify colors for the Trend Analysis window, enable trend values and to set trigger thresholds for each value. You can trend for total and error packets, and each of the five filters.
TCP/IP Analysis window
Displays statistics about TCP/IP (Internet) data. It is broken into two sections, Address and Protocol. To change the relative size of the sections, click and drag the double line between the sections.
Click this button to save any text displayed in the Packet Inference Window to a file.
Packet Inference‚Ñ¢ window
Packet Inference automatically detects many types of network problems and provides English language explanations and conclusions about unusual conditions detected. It is based on a set of rules which are pre-programmed.
Click this button to clear all learned data collected by Packet Inference. Use Clear after you have read in a new sample of data and are about to use Apply to apply Packet Inference rules to the data.
Click this button to tune how Packet Inference applies its rules.
Click this button to apply the Packet Inference rules to the collected Ethernet data. This button is unhighlighted whenever NetMinder Ethernet is collecting data or when there is no Ethernet data.
NetWare Analysis window
Displays statistics about Novell NetWare data. It is broken into two sections, Address and Protocol. To change the relative size of the sections, click and drag the double line between the sections.
NetMinder® Ethernet window
Contains controls for collecting and viewing Ethernet packets and displays summary information about Ethernet packets collected.
Use this pop-up menu to select between displaying the packet's source Ethernet address or, if possible, the Network Layer address. Network Layer addresses can be displayed for AppleTalk, TCP/IP, and DECnet.
Use this pop-up menu to select between displaying the packet's destination Ethernet address or, if possible, the Network Layer address. Network Layer addresses can be displayed for AppleTalk, TCP/IP, and DECnet.
Click this button to enter a packet number to immediately select and decode that packet. Use this button as an alternative to the scroll bar in the NetMinder Ethernet window.
Click this button after selecting an Ethernet header to provide a mapping between a name and, depending on the type of packet, an Ethernet, AppleTalk, or TCP/IP address.
Click this button after selecting an Ethernet header to display a short discussion about the selected packet. If an explanation is unavailable for the selected packet, NetMinder Ethernet will beep.
Click this button after selecting an Ethernet header to display the decoded Ethernet packet's contents. You can also double-click the header to decode. If you would like to reuse the same decode window, either hold the shift, caps lock or option key.
Click this button to start and stop Ethernet data collection.
Use this pop-up menu to select between displaying the packet's destination Ethernet type or, if possible, either the Network or Transport Layer protocol type.
Use this pop-up menu to select between two types of timestamping timers, low or high resolution, and to display in ether absolute time or time between packets. Be sure to read the discussion about timestamps in the NetMinder Ethernet manual.
IP Address Map
Use this window to manage and edit names mapped to IP addresses.
Filter Analysis window
Displays statistics about Filter data. If any packet data matches any of the configured filters, a list entry is displayed for that filter.
Ethernet Protocol Map
Use this window to manage and edit names mapped to Ethernet protocols.
Ethernet Data window
Displays the contents of an Ethernet packet.
Ethernet Analysis window
Displays statistics about Data Link (Ethernet) data. It is broken into two sections, Address and Protocol. To change the relative size of the sections, click and drag the double line between the sections.
Ethernet Address Map
Use this window to manage and edit names mapped to Ethernet addresses.
AppleTalk Analysis window
Displays statistics about AppleTalk data. It is broken into two sections, Address and Protocol. To change the relative size of the sections, click and drag the double line between the sections.
AppleTalk Protocol Map
Use this window to manage and edit names mapped to AppleTalk addresses.
